About Carson Pessler

Growing up I was passionate about Legos because I loved the idea that I was in control of what was built. When I found out that people got paid to do what I was doing for fun, I knew what my next steps were going to be. I was set on becoming an Engineer from a very young age, I just didn't know the correct terminology for it yet. When I went to a NASA space camp in 2019, my love for engineering got even deeper. Even though I was only a freshman in high school, I was ready to look into college for engineering. Fortunately, I stumbled across Miami University in Oxford and haven't looked back! I believe that my past jobs are a huge part of who I have become. Below I have listed my previous jobs and how they have impacted me- Paper Delivery Boy: I gained the ability to interact with hundreds of customers and I built relationships with people I would have never interacted with if I didn't do the Paper Delivery- Dishwasher: I learned what I did not want to do when I grew up. This job was something I did in high school to earn some side money, but I knew that I did not want to be working in a restaurant once I grew up and had a career- City Maintenace Worker: This job taught me how to work. This was my first job that was 40 hours a week and all 40 hours were outside in the summer sun. I had so much fun at this job because I learned more from my older coworkers than a lot of classes could ever teach me- Amazon Air Associate: This job taught me how to work with people from all different types of backgrounds. The facility I worked at had employees and I interacted with most of them. I learned how to talk to everyone and how to keep a conversation going even if it was tough- Facility Engineering Co - Op: This was my first job in the engineering field and I can say that it gave me a deeper grasp of engineering as a whole. I learned how to read a set of plans, communicate with multiple companies and personnel to review projects, and what it is like to work in a corporate setting. Outside of work I love to hangout with family and friends. I enjoy being outside, whether it is hiking, camping or playing sports. I am a huge sports fan and I support all of the Cincinnati teams (Even if we aren't the best). I have played almost every sport, but I am currently only playing golf and hockey. Overall, I believe that these experiences have turned me into a well-rounded person who has seen a little bit of everything.
