About Carsten Gayer

During more than two decades Carsten Gayer has worked with many 'big-name' Global Clients, world-leading Management Consulting and Private Equity firms providing market intelligence, strategic analysis and consulting. He started his career working at McKinsey & Company, Inc. before he established his own Consulting Company in 1995. Through more than projects including dozens of large-scale international projects Carsten has gained broad experience in various industries like, e.g, automotive, engineering/heavy industry or chemicals. From 2009 to 2014 Carsten has been heading and tripling the operations of Global Intelligence Alliance (GIA) in the DACH region and Benelux. In September 2014, when M-Brain acquired GIA, he continued as Managing Director of the combined businesses of both companies for this territory. Since 2019 also responsible for Enterprise Sales in France and since 2023 including the Nordics. Under new brand Valona Intelligence now VP Europe. Together with his team Carsten has established dozens of long-term client partnerships with companies like Philips, Linde Hydraulics or Johnson Controls, across all industries. Beside his lead in business management, enterprise sales, business development and customer management Carsten takes an active role in strategic analysis & advisory projects and works with many customers on developing their intelligence programs towards a World Class level. Carsten gained the title Dipl-Oec (equiv. to M.Sc. Economics) from the Ruhr University in Bochum, Germany, majoring in Marketing Science and Civil Law. He published articles on Market Research Methodologies and Marketing Strategy and is frequent speaker/facilitator at conferences, workshops and other educational events about world class intelligence. Special areas of expertise: Enterprise sales, applied generative AI technology for MI & CI, business management and development, marketing, customer management, advisory on setting up and developing World Class Intelligence programs in multinational organisations, setting up and managing multinational market sizing & opportunity assessment studies and competitive analyses, typically including desk research and expert interviews.
