About Carsten Sachmann

I lead Accenture’s practice in the Nordics – Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and the Baltics - serving our Nordic clients within sectors ranging from industrial products, consumer goods, retail, travel, resources, public services to transportation across all our services from strategy, management consulting to technology and outsourcing. During my 30+-year career in Accenture, I have been working across many industries as grocery retail, transportation, traditional Industrial production, construction as well as the pharmaceutical business. I have been leading large business transformation programs, also including extensive IT replatforming (ERP), as well as achieving operational improvements through simplification and in combination with business process outsourcing (BPO). I have a special passion for leading Accenture's digital evolution into our Nordic business and find it very exciting to combine traditional consulting skills and cultures with new ideas provided by colleagues coming with different angles and backgrounds, making the best out of all parties developing innovative digital solutions together with our clients. Outside of Accenture, I have for some years been member of the board in the Danish Industry Confederation’s branch for the consulting sector. This gives me first-hand knowledge of what is going on in the consulting industry and of course the opportunity to discuss current topics with other consulting executives – which again gives the sector a common voice towards the political community. I am also frequently contributing in the media, and both in the Industry Confederation and the media work, I have three key topics, I focus on: The need for growing and attracting STEAM talent (Science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) in order for companies to win in the digital economy, the need for all leaders to be tech leaders and fundamentally understand digital technologies – and finally that we politically ensure an attractive business framework for the digital economy to secure future competitiveness of our Nordic companies.
