About Carter Florence

As the award-winning Founder of Yardex Guelph, I’ve grown a local lawn care business into a thriving operation known for its outstanding customer service, operational excellence, and strong community ties. From scheduling routes to leading a team and driving growth, I’ve learned what it takes to build something from the ground up—and deliver results. I’m also a DECA Provincial Champion and current Chapter Engagement Officer for Ontario DECA, where I’ve sharpened my skills in finance, entrepreneurship, leadership, and communication. These experiences have fueled my passion for solving problems, inspiring others, and thinking like an owner. That passion deepened through the MEI International Business program, where I explored global markets hands-on—pitching hedge funds in New York, analyzing real estate in Munich, and refining marketing strategies in Milan. Outside of business, I’ve been proud to serve my community as a swim instructor and lifeguard with the City of Guelph, helping others build confidence and life skills in and out of the water. Whether I’m leading a business, mentoring peers, or engaging with my community, I believe in showing up with purpose, learning by doing, and always going the extra mile.
