About Carter P.

I am a proud graduate from IU's Health Data Science program. My specialty lies in R and SQL-based procedures, though my knowledge extends to other programs and languages such as Python, PHP, and Tableau. My past internship as a research assistant has required me to take on projects from start-to-finish with a great balance of independence and collaboration. I'm confident in all steps of the analytical process, from the preparation of data, the structuring and running of computational methods, and the visualization and interpretation of results as needed to guide company decisions. I take great pride in being able to assess what statistical approach is most fitting for the task at hand, with a strong inclination for Bayesian methods. As a passion-project, I have recently developed an R package titled pocketMonstR, which serves as a R-hosted recreation of core mechanics of the Pokémon video games held up by object-oriented programming. This was an exciting challenge as it allowed me to break the boundaries of my normal RStudio activities by strategically using the tools provided for me in new contexts.
