About Carter Wood

I am currently a fourth-year student at Carleton University where I am completing my Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering (with Co-op designation). Throughout my undergrad to date I have been blessed with several summer student/coop work-term opportunities. I have been a member of a software engineering team at Best Theratronics, conducting validation and verification of software to be implemented on Blood Irradiation Machines. A few summers ago, I completed a 4-month coop term at Pratt & Whitney Canada, working alongside a supervisor of a 25+ member logistics team on an MRO shop floor. We completed day-to-day supervision tasks in multiple languages (French/English), and I filled in full-time for this supervisor during his 6-week vacation. Most recently I have completed a 16-month coop term as a member of the mechanical engineering team at MDS Aero Support Corporation here in Ottawa, Canada. I was given several different mechanical engineering problems to solve throughout the term, and the coop culminated with the completion of a mechanical design concept for a throttle quadrant to be implemented in gas turbine test facilities around the world. I am currently working at MDS Aero part time as I work to complete the final year of my degree.
