Currently president of Cary O'Brien's Design & Color Spa a full service salon and spa in St. Charles, MO.An employment based salon that has a team of 16 stylists, 4 estheticians, 1 massage person, and 3 support and desk personal. Compensation ranges from hourly, hourly/commission, to salary. It is note worthy to express this as we are not a rental salon which is a 90% majority of our industry today. I have over 30 years of experience in the beauty industry. Experiences range from growing up in the salon business that my mother started, to opening my first salon at the age of 21. I have been an in-salon educator, platform artist, developed a weekly radio show, event emcee, regional education manager and national education manger for a major product manufacturer. Most of my career I have focused on the education side of the industry however, I have a strong focus on sales,and growing the bottom line and prefer to work with the sales team and help build the relationship between sales and education. I have had to opportunity to served on the Board of Directors for the Professional Beauty Association from 2002 - 2012 and served as President of the Salon Section from 2009 - 2011. Learning to work with the leaders of the industry and negotiate for my sections best interest during the mergers of ABA and NCA have been most rewarding. I continue to look for opportunities to grow and expand the industry and challenge myself.
