About Caryan Watts

I am a hardworking individual 15 years of experience in retail ranging from global companies, small businesses and charity retail. I developed a keen eye for detail and high standards while working as a Visual Merchandiser for H&M, my duties including changing store displays, completing store team planning, training new members of staff and keeping the team up to date on upcoming trends. During 2015 I worked as Assistant to the Director for The TeaShed. In this role I was focused on the company’s social media channels and website, regularly updating content, blogs and recipe ideas. I also arranged promotion of the products in magazines and blogs and liaised with companies to arrange orders. During my time with the company we saw a clear increase in sales and social media interest. Since 2015 I have worked for St. Oswald's Hospice, first as a Retail Support Manager then filling the role of Central Sorting and Shop Manager during a colleagues maternity leave, before progressing into a role as an events and shop manager. In working for the company I have developed my management skills, leading teams of paid staff and volunteers. I regularly manage different shops providing fantastic experience in fitting in with different teams. I have been commended in the past for my strong work ethic and ambition to progress. Not willing to settle I always challenge myself to achieve more and develop in any ways possible. I thrive on a challenge and am driven by results. I have a BA Hons in Photography, Video and Digital Imaging from The University of Sunderland with experience in both digital and manual photography including black and white and colour darkrooms. During my third year I had a body of work displayed at the National Trust site, Cragside.
