About Casey Anderson

Graduated with MArch {prof} in 2011 and was offered an opportunity as an industrial and exhibition designer at DE Group in Auckland. I worked with some incredible people most notably under the influence of Edward Fuller now part of the design movement Dragonbox who has had a big influence on my career.Although the design work wasn't specifically architecture, I was able to learn a great deal about joinery and bespoke furniture design which has contributed to a detailed knowledge of construction and assembly which I’m very proud of and continue to call on in my day to day running of projects. From here I was given an opportunity to join Creative Spaces where I spent nearly 3 years. Creative (now GHD Woodhead Creative) was a multi-disciplinary practice with Architectural, Interior and project management services.I worked on small and large scale works and enjoyed most of all working under some of the industry’s great architects - you know you you are - Kevin, Hamish and Harry:)From here I travelled to London where I spent just under 5 years at Sheppard Robson Architects as a project lead and later Associate running large commercial interior design projects. In my time at SR I met and worked with some of the industries best Architects and interior Designers and was able to work at a scale far beyond that I had worked before. Here I learnt a great deal about letting go of the drawings and managing people and timelines to achieve outstanding results and workspace for our clients. Now I've landed at RTA Studio getting back to my core architectural routes in their satelite office in the Hawke's Bay. I'm focused on civic and community projects which add urban and social value to the evolving regional landscape. Having worked across a variety of project scales and typologies I feel settled in a place I now call home. I'm very excited to see what the next few years looks like and the project work that comes from our continued mahi!
