About Casey Babb

Casey is a skillful and strategic policymaker with extensive experience in the security, defence, and energy sectors. He's led on large scale, multi-million dollar files and initiatives on issues ranging from export controls, inward foreign investment screening for national security threats, supply chain resiliency, critical infrastructure protection, energy disruptions, emergency management responses, cyber security, and several matters related to emerging technological domains (e.g, artificial intelligence). In addition, Casey is a seasoned communicator, with experience advising several Cabinet Ministers, the Office of the Prime Minister, Deputy Ministers, and Assistant Deputy Ministers across government. Throughout his time in the public sector, Casey has developed expert knowledge of internal government strategy, processes, and decision-making from the Ministerial level through to working-level analysts. He is routinely trusted to blend his scholarly research and expertise on emerging markets, technology, and national security with priority policy and problem solving efforts in government. Casey is also an Associate Fellow at the Royal United Services Institute in London, England as well as an International Fellow at the Glazer Center for Israel-China Policy at the Institute for National Security Studies at Tel Aviv University, in Israel. He teaches graduate-level courses on terrorism, international security, weapons of mass destruction, and global conflict at The Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University in Ottawa.
