About Casey Badaczewski

My communication, organization and responsibility are well demonstrated in both my work, student and volunteer experiences. I have a Bachelors degree in General Studies with a concentration in Biology from the University of Nebraska Omaha. Additionally, I have a year of education and 200 clinical hours experience in the nursing field. During my year of nursing school, I gained experience with patient confidentiality, critical thinking skills as a healthcare provider, accurate data collection using multiple electronic medical record systems and maintaining positive work relationships between all hospital personnel. Throughout my sixteen years in service industry I gained many different skills. I assisted in opening a new local bar and created a customer base that returned on a daily and weekly basis for years because of the positive experiences I provided. In this position I was able to fine tune my interpersonal and relationship building skills which would eventually translate into my current position. The many years I spent here also provided me with the ability to troubleshoot issues as I worked alone most shifts. Currently, I work as a Senior Access Patient Associate at Nebraska Medicine. In this position I ensure that patients and customers are greeted in a professional, timely and efficient manner and that accounts are created accurately and efficiently. I exceed customer expectations and comply with all state and federal regulations and laws throughout the process of scheduling confirmation, pre-registration/pre-admission, registration/admission, insurance verification, receipting of payments and patient way finding/escorting. I am required to have face to face bedside patient contact regularly. In the Emergency Department I am required to register patients. If they are a new patient, I follow procedures to ensure all information is added into their chart and insurance is verified. I am responsible for scanning in documents that are then uploaded into patients charts on EPIC. If they are return patients, I follow the procedures necessary to ensure all information is up to date.
