As a Quality Control Lab Tech at San Diego Blood Bank, I ensure the safety and quality of blood products and samples, using state-of-the-art equipment and procedures. I perform various tests and analyses, such as blood typing, antibody screening, and viral marker testing, and report any abnormal or non-conforming results. I also maintain and calibrate the instruments, follow the standard operating procedures and guidelines, and comply with the regulatory and accreditation requirements. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UC San Diego, where I gained a solid foundation in biological sciences, laboratory skills, and research methods.
