About Casey Coffee

When people talk, I know what they’re saying, I know what they mean, and I can communicate clearly and efficiently back to them. Listening, learning, writing, and editing are what I do. I am a scholar of literature film, media, and fandom, a tech enthusiast, and a perceptive communicator. I have a passion for grammar, an allergy to misspelled and misused words, and an inability to leave a misplaced modifier unmoved. I’m known to never be late and to always keep my word. If I make a commitment, I will follow through. I hold an MA in Film and Media Studies, and I hold PhD candidacy in the subject. Professionally, I have more than three years of experience as an editorial assistant for Camera Obscura, a journal of feminism, media, and cultural studies, and two years of experience as a writer and editor for ABC-CLIO's digital educational databases. I have also held editing positions with Emergence: A Journal of Undergraduate Research & Criticism as well as punctum books, an open-access academic publisher. I am ready to take the knowledge gained from these positions and apply it as a meticulous, detail-oriented writer, creator, thinker, and researcher for a company that shares my dedication to creativity, learning, innovation, and communication. At the same time, I plan to continue reading late into the night, writing passionately about stories and media, and unceasingly improving, expanding, and updating my skill set.
