Background
About Casey Crespo
After a Fashion Degree and years of sewing in the entertainment industry (including Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland,""One Tree Hill," and "Iron Man 3"), I've decided to pursue my own clothing line, which has been my long time dream and my greatest gratification to date. My customers cannot be pigeon-holed by age, economic bracket, or figure type. The colors, patterns, and silhouettes that I choose or create are artistic not trendy. Fit and proportion are key elements to looking our best so the styles that minimize the most common figure flaws will always be timeless. All of my clothing is designed to be flexible. Each piece must have the versatility to be paired with other pieces from a woman’s own closet in order to give her the most creativity and freedom of personal expression about her finished look. While I make every effort to choose sustainable fabrics that do the least harm to the environment, I feel that a large and under-emphasized element of environmental consciousness begins with the design itself. I create fashion that can be enjoyed for many seasons to come. This is the opposite of fast fashion which has become very cheap in both production methods as well as in fabric choices, and as a result, seems destined to sit in landfills for decades along with their plastic bottle cousins. In addition, no matter what level of success my work achieves, my line will NEVER be produced by abused workers in third world countries who are paid subsistence wages. As I am the third generation of my family to work in the garment trades, I understand the massive changes that our industry has endured, especially in the past few decades. Because of this awareness, I feel that it would be not only my obligation, but also my privilege if my work could provide badly needed jobs to American workers.
