About Casey Ford
I am an experienced and awarding winning university teacher, researcher, and published writer in philosophy. I am currently the Communications Lead and writer at Nym. I received my PhD in Philosophy from the University of Guelph (Canada) in 2016. I have taught over 18 Philosophy courses in Philosophy since 2012 and am the recipient of two teaching awards. Most recently I was Philosophy Fellow at Marlboro College, which until 2020 was a unique liberal-arts school in Vermont. As a researcher I am interested in the embodied human experiences, the intersection of human life with non-human agents and social institutions, and the possibilities for improving human life philosophically and politically. I am currently working on several projects related to addiction. I have been the lead and co-organizer of many collective philosophical projects that aim to foster spaces of thinking together and which also attempt to bridge the practice of philosophical thinking with the social world.
