About Casey Gin

I have completed a master’s program in Community Health Sciences, concentrating in Health Education and Health Promotion. Also, I served as a program coordinator for health insurance outreach, enrollment, and education at a community health center serving Lower Manhattan. Recently, I have served as an organizer for nurses with the New York State Nurses Association. Through these positions, I have experience in organizing, outreaching, and serving community members to address their issues and needs. Through my undergraduate and graduate studies, I gained technical skills such as strategic program planning and evaluation, and data collection and analysis. I have learned skills in engaging with community members, volunteers, and community health workers in empowering them to create change. In working in an educational and organizing setting, I learned and practiced the creation of culturally and linguistically responsive curriculum and activities as an after-school teacher, project coordinator, and community health worker in both local and global settings. I have supervised and coordinate volunteers and staff in my student organizing and professional experiences. In addition, I have gained skills in training, logistical support, and working cohesively with staff, administrators, and supervisors to advance the mission of each organization. I have over eight years of experience working with diverse and underserved communities as a community and public health worker and organizer in the Bay Area, Los Angeles, and New York. In community organizing, I have facilitated partnerships and coordinated outreach, canvassing, lobbying, and community forums. As a labor organizer, I was responsible for maintaining communications with members as well as recruitment and participation in union activities and events. As my references will attest, I conduct myself with exceptional professionalism and am genuinely passionate about my work in community health and social justice.
