About Casey Jennings

Previously Graduate Research Assistant for the Virginia Center for Coal and Energy Research within the Virginia Tech Mining and Minerals Engineering Department. Assisting on a Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS)/Enhanced Gas Recovery (EGR) test in a coalbed methane reservoir. Responsibilities include characterizing and monitoring produced water quality during the CO2 injection phase and geochemical modeling. Created a DEM and structure map of the CCS/EGR test site using ArcGIS. Continuously import water quality and gas production data from Excel to look for spatial and structural trends. Graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor's degree in Geology (Hydrogeology concentration) and a minor in Environmental Engineering. Spent 2+ years working for Vibra-Tech, Inc. which provides vibration monitoring, blast consulting, environmental, geophysical, and geotechnical services to the construction, mining, and energy industries. Have extensive experience managing and analyzing data in Excel, including performing decline curve analyses and economic evaluations. Other experiences related to my thesis and graduate studies include geochemical modeling in PHREEQC, creating simple reservoir simulation models in MATLAB and groundwater modeling with MODFLOW.
