About Casey Johnston

Never in my life have I had to worry about access to safe, potable water nor be concerned about where my wastewater goes and what happens to it. However, for many across the world, facilities and practices to ensure clean drinking water, adequate sanitation, and proper hygiene are scarce or even nonexistent. Even in the US, there are communities in need of new or upgraded water and wastewater treatment facilities but lack the personnel and/or funds to reach their goals. I believe access to clean drinking water and reliable waste management are human rights essential to a happy, healthy society. That is why I became an environmental engineer, to help communities reach or maintain the best possible drinking water and wastewater management practices they can.
