I am a woman who has already made a difference in this world and the desire to continue to do so. Just a smile and a conversation can make a huge difference beginning with one person who will remember and pay it forward.I have an associate degree in social and behavioral sciences. My path to the road of success lead me to respiratory care, instead of law, or nursing. I want to be the change I see in the world, this sounds redundant because that is what everyone seems to strive for.However, I am not only referring to the the patients lives, the health care workers as well. Respiratory care is a field that is under appreciated and goes unnoticed too often. I have become passionate about this specific area in the art of medicine. Every position from nursing,physician, to ultrasound technician, play a vital role in the art of medicine and we are considered one. One team, same goal, different approaches to achieve that goal. Respiratory care is the core, the foundation of a patients well being. Contrary to popular belief, respiratory care is so much more than giving breathing treatments. Without oxygen, the ability to breathe, or ventilate there is no heart, theres no sight, and there is no life. I love that I am responsible for a special organ(s) that are so fragile yet, so powerful. The lungs are a vital team player in the body with the same goal as the the rest of the body system with a specific job in achieving that goal. Forget the mistakes of the past, and press on to the greater achievements of the future. Hope is loving life.
