About Casey Matsumoto

User Interface Designer / Concept Artist Currently residing in Tokyo, Japan. UI Artist at Kojima Productions. I grew up in an environment surrounded by art and entertainment. Video games and movies were always my passion since I was a child. It is only natural that I became an artist later on to pursue a career in these fields. Having said that, I can confidently say that I love my job as an artist. I attended Illustration and Entertainment Design at the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. There, I received my training both a traditional illustrator and concept artist. My training gave me the skill set to efficiently come up with different solutions for each creative problem. Unlike most of the other concept artist who are focused in just one specific area, my training covered all the different aspects of design. This includes not only character designs, but also environment concepts, prop concepts, and various visual developments. I believe what makes me stand out is my willingness to learn to improve and my dedication to strive for excellency and to finish a job in a timely manner.
