About Casey Phillips

I'm a gratefully emancipated journalist now serving as lead communications specialist for a nationally renowned zoological institution and anchor of Southeastern tourism. My responsibilities encompass a wide array of content creation, with special emphasis on video production and composing or editing all outward-facing written messaging. I strategically fuel and oversee a variety of social channels in addition to serving as the primary writer and editor for the majority of our distributable messaging (news releases, digital magazine articles, ghost written contributions to external publications, etc.). I also produce and host the aquarium's official podcast, which has been an entertaining venture and a valuable new channel through which to expand our storytelling opportunities. These varied applications of my skills serve the common purpose of reinforcing and expanding the aquarium's role as a pillar of conservation science, a leader in animal care, a beloved tourist destination, and a powerful economic driver.(Also, I get to embrace my love of science and animals every day, which is 100% the fuel to my fire.)
