let's begin with everyone of my 4 mentors had no less then 20 years experience in VIP cabinet finishing when I started doing aircraft cabinet finish. Because of their vast knowledge of "ancient tools" and methods, my abilities and understanding of finish accelerated at an abnormally fast pace. I started 12 years ago and now have 5 years experience doing faux artwork. my artwork is inside planes that I cant inform you about. One of the A/C had over 300sf of faux art in a variety characteristics ranging from, fantasy marbles and stucco, to birdseye maple veneer and hardwood. since learning faux art, it has become the passion of my work. Besides faux art, repairing damaged interiors onsite is my second favorite part of my career. The repair of interiors onsite is very challenging, because you have to be able to assess and create a plan to achieve the exact same aesthetic value as before the damage. I would like to say I achieve this every time. From mixing custom colors to match any surface inside and out of your plane, to making a rip in your leather disappear, I achieve this every time. I love to tinker with design flaws, unfamiliar substrates and materials. A common situation includes the customer unhappy with a remedy, and now the customer, if they are aware of me says," Casey, what can you do with this?". I say " well, I can make it go away, when do you need it done?". This will determine my process. No better feeling than a customer who can not find a repair, even though they know exactly where the damage was.
