About Casey Stamm

I believe classical music is an art form capable of expanding a person’s worldview, and connecting to this art form hinges on participatory experiences. I am a bassoonist who loves sharing classical music with the community. When I was in college I found my niche in the classical music world through interactive chamber concerts. I love to encourage my audience to connect with the music through activities that promote active listening skills. My role models for this work include Eric Booth, David Wallace & Leonard Bernstein. In my years at CMU I met a few musicians who shared my vision for a chamber group that would play interactive concerts. Together we formed Ears Engaged (EE). We guide our audience into the participatory experiences by creating accessible programs that are engaging, educational, and entertaining. I currently have a few day jobs, but in the future my hope is for EE to produce enough valuable content to build both an online community & a local community (in Pittsburgh) of other likeminded classical musicians. I want EE to inspire others to go play in their community but also to remember the point of playing, to connect with the audience on a level deeper than words.
