About Casey Upson

I have over 15 years of experience being a leader in education and curriculum. Before education, I worked for Merrill Lynch in the financial industry for six years. I deeply believe education needs to evolve to accept the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. I believe every student has the right to an education and educators must seek alternative pathways to reach these students - mind, body and soul. Education is an individual journey - one in which every student matters. I believe deeply in the partnership between schools, students, care takers and community. Communication and connection is essential. I have worked in several positions including Department Chair, Resource Center Coordinator,Curriculum writer, and teacher for both Princeton Public schools and Princeton Day School. I have taught as an adjunct professor at Columbia Teachers College and The College of NJ. Through my company Literacy Edge, I consult with districts across the country, support individual families, provide professional development, and work as a consultant for several educational companies. Currently I’m working towards my Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy at the University of Tennessee. Outside of work, I'm with my family - deeply involved in community events and doing good for children through the Bill Cirullo Kids Fund.
