About Casey Westover

My entire career has been focused on complex commercial litigation and product liability defense, including representing clients as lead counsel in both jury and bench trials, and in the United States Court of Appeals. My litigation philosophy is to work with the client at the outset of a matter to identify the client's goals, and then develop the best strategy to achieve those goals. Although the landscape in any given matter can, and often will, change as the case develops, creating a plan from the beginning, while staying nimble enough to adapt the plan if needed, is the best way to achieve the desired results. During the last four years, I have also served as the Deputy Practice Group Leader / Associate Development Partner for Reed Smith's Complex Litigation Group in Chicago, overseeing the professional development and assignments of litigation associates in the Chicago office. In that role I foster an atmosphere of open communication and continuous feedback, encouraging associates to identify what they want to achieve, and strategizing with them on how to get there.
