About Casie Meyer

My name is Casie Meyer. I'm an environmental engineering student at the University of Iowa. My junior year of high school, I wrote a research essay about climate change, and discovered that I'm immensely interested in environmental issues. From this moment on, every project I did or paper I wrote was about something environment related. I knew I wanted to go to college to study a related field, so I landed in environmental engineering. My main goal in the environmental engineering field is to make an impact. I've worked hard in every past situation I've been in to make an impact where I was. I graduated high school with a 4.3 GPA. I earned an internship at one of the biggest law offices in Cedar Rapids right out of high school. In college, I knew that I wanted to do more than just academics, so I got involved in multiple organizations. I joined several engineering-specific student organizations to make friends with as many engineering students as possible. I've also been able to gain some real world experience with the multiple engineering-related jobs I've had. In professional settings, I've worked in research to collect and analyze water quality data from around the state of Iowa. I've worked in administrative settings to learn organizational and soft skills. I've done all of this while balancing schoolwork and participating in multiple study abroad opportunities. I've worked hard to get this point, and I will use my education, experience, and work ethic to make a difference within the field of environmental engineering.
