About Cason Pierce

Hello, my name is Cason Pierce and I’m a current sophomore at Duke University studying Math and Computer Science with a certificate in PPE (politics, philosophy, and economics). My time in the classroom is primarily spent learning about different data structures and algorithms and the mathematical foundations that underlie these methods. While I enjoy developing these technical skills, I also love the opportunity to gain an understanding of markets and behavioral decision-making through my PPE classes. Outside of the classroom I spend most of my time in the basketball gym where I am a manager and practice player for the Duke Men’s Basketball team. Working for such an esteemed program and disciplined culture has instilled numerous leadership and interpersonal skills that will serve me well anywhere I go in life. My greatest passion can be found at the intersection of all of the aforementioned skills and interests. Using technology, mathematics, and quantitative reasoning to solve tangible, real world problems alongside other people is where I find my greatest purpose.
