Having worked in all areas of the fashion industry from retail to design and production I have a comprehensive product knowledge and practical experience of managing the design process, coordinating various elements and working with factories to deliver products to market. A pro active approach, the ability to be adaptable and to learn on the job has allowed me a diverse career working in various roles at all levels of the fashion industry through which I have gained a wealth of knowledge, experience and practical skills. Practical experience of the day-to-day running of a small business, working with large and small suppliers internationally, sourcing fabrics, manufacturers and coordinating the various elements of production to deadline. Importing and exporting goods, invoicing and the use of Microsoft office packages to manage data. I have an understanding of pattern cutting and the technical manufacture of garments. Am practiced at toile construction, altering, fitting and hand finishing of garments Computer literate, familiar with social media and a basic understanding of web design, SEO. Competent with Adobe graphic design packages i.e. Photoshop and Illustrator in presenting ideas and concepts, creating clear professional imagery, spec drawings, mood boards, look books. I’ve used the wide skill set acquired through my varied roles and a fashion degree to launch my own label this year, with a bag range COE2 By Casper Oliver This allows me to explore my main interest of modern manufacture techniques and the use of computer technology in creative pattern cutting and womenswear design. I aim to continue working within the fashion industry, to continue to learn and develop my knowledge and broaden my skills.
