About Casper Strydom

I'm passionate about using technology as an enabler to drive change and improve last-mile service delivery in developing countries.*Experienced in product management and business development* I have managed products that have scaled in terms of technical capability and reach in multiple countries. Being the link between the development team and the client has given me experience in communicating requirements and proposing solutions to different audiences. My ability to understand and then explain complex technical solutions to anyone is one of my greatest skills. During each engagement with government stakeholders, development agencies and implementing partners I have used the opportunity to establish a digital journey relationship that is simple and inclusive. Highlights- Developed and managed a product in Zambia that the government used to register more than 2 million beneficiaries eligible for social grants- Worked closely with Vodafone, Vodacom and Safaricom business development and sales teams to package products in a way that governments and development agencies understand the value and return on investment.*Agile*- I have been an Agile Product Owner even before it became a well-known practice. And I implemented Human-Centred Design without even knowing the term existed- I'm really good at analysing problems and then creating or improving a digital solution that will benefit all stakeholders in the value chain- Starting small and then continuously iterating a solution based on user feedback is one of my favourite parts of my job- I'm never afraid to test fresh solutions, learn from the experience and guide the team to improve the next iteration.*Team player* I like building relationships with the people in and around my team. And I like to think people always know where they stand with me. Acknowledging we are all human is important if you want to get the best out of anyone.
