About Cassidy Alvarez

I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Molecular Biology and Biology at the University of Delaware in May of 2022. I am currently a Biotechnology Master's student at St. John's University and will be graduating in 2024. I have experience in the fields of DNA Barcoding, DNA Extraction and Purification, Plasmid Cloning, Bacterial Infiltration of Plants, PCR, Cell Culture, and Flow Cytometry. I interned at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory DNA Learning Center in New York where I sorted data for BARCODE Long Island and Extracted/Obtained DNA from Mosquitoes and Red Fire Ants. I also interned at Fraunhofer USA Center for Molecular Biotechnology in Delaware where I cloned plasmid constructs and infiltrated them into Nicotiana Bethamiana plants for AAV Vaccine Therapy research. I performed affinity protein purification of these infiltrated plants and ran Western Blots there as well. I am a troubleshooter and always willing to take on new challenges.
