About Cassidy Brown

I'm passionate about creating meaningful personal connections and helping others. I've worked in many areas, from a Starbucks barista to a program director at a summer camp, and working in Residence Life. I think the one connection between all three of these positions is fostering human connection. Whether it's creating quick and simple conversation at a register, developing programming to assist teens in learning leadership skills, or walking alongside college students as they navigate what it means to live away from home for the first time. In my studies in Peace and Conflict Transformation skills I've learned the importance of collaboration, open and honest communication, and diving deeper into conflict and disruption to work through it. I've studied restorative justice tools, mediation, as well as how conflict intersects with larger social justice issues such as racism and gender dynamics. As an indigenous woman I'm also extremely passionate about Reconciliation work. As a Métis woman I've walked in both Indigenous and Settler circles, and think it's crucial for settler organizations to be listening and learning from Indigenous ways of knowing, so as to commit to reconciliation. I'm always eager to learn new skills, go above and beyond, and be a part of a dynamic workplace. I'm looking for a job that's going to provide the opportunity for personal and career growth, and a supportive and fun workplace that challenges me.
