About Cassidy Platt

Hello! My name is Cassidy Platt and I have been working in education for the past 11 years. I have a BA in Elementary Education with a focus on the Dramatic Arts and English Acquisition as well as my Masters in Education with a focus on Teaching and Leadership. I started teaching in Humboldt County in a K/1 class and then a 4th grade class with the clouds and rain but moved down to San Diego to enjoy the sunshine. I taught kindergarten and was the instructional coach for a Hebrew immersion charter school for 6 years. This allowed me the opportunity to travel and teach English in Israel which was an experience I will never forget. It strengthened my love for exploring new cultures and I bring this love into my classroom to share with my students. During those few years, I was able to pick up some basic Hebrew which I love sharing with my students. I am also going to be diving back into Spanish this coming year and will add that into our classroom along with our basic Sign Language we use in class. I have now been teaching kindergarten at Innovations Academy since 2020 and am the teacher representative on our school board. When I am not singing and dancing in the classroom, I enjoy swimming in the ocean, reading, hiking, camping, and hanging out with my friends and family. You will also find me doing a trash pick up to help our wonderful Earth whenever I can.
