About Cassidy Smith

Clinical Case Manager serving adult populations with severe and persistent mental and developmental disabilities that experience homelessness. I currently provide mental health treatment facilitation, foundational psychoeducation, counseling, and behavioral health interventions as clinically appropriate for the patient's presentation and disclosure. I work directly with program leadership in collaboration to analyze housing placement and loss statistics to investigate the stabilization of housing placement for the population served. In my work, I employ CBT, DBT, mental health status exams, clinical testing and assessment, and multi-disciplinary group and individual counseling. I work strategically with a collaborative cross-functional team of nurses, housing case managers, psychiatric ARNPs, employment counselors, representative payees, SUD and MAT providers, external representative payees, housing authorities, property managers, and community resource provider My patients come to expect trauma-informed care that is harm reduction, housing first, and person-centered with unconditional positive regard and clarity about how the hierarchy of needs affects the human condition. With a passion for the improvement of the human condition and experience, I bring empathy, compassion, drive, ambition, and meticulous attention to detail into my work every day. I intend to continue my work in this population by transitioning into clinical research that investigates neural pathways that predispose individuals with organic psychological health disorders to aggressive and violent behaviors by continuing my professional development with continued education and extensive fieldwork.
