Background

About Cassidy Stark

How does a coach become Supply Chain/HR specialist? Coaching has taught and conditioned me with skills to apply in the workplace including organization, time management, knowledge, and passion. Organization. While coaching two broomball teams, I have to organize team bonding, practice times, and game nights. I use a planner to write down and visually see the time and place of all events. This transfers over into the workplace because it's important to stay organized to stay on schedule. Time Management. Balancing school, coaching, and being involved on campus can be hectic. This is similar to having a busy day full of meetings I must attend on time and still manage to get my work done. I must show the girls I am coaching that I can lead by example, being at all practices and being there on time. Knowledge. I memorized the school rules on the athletic policies and safety training. It is important for me to know about the school I work for, as well as the girls I am coaching. I want them to feel comfortable talking to me about any issues they are having. I must know the laws and procedures of the workplace to successfully become a good employee/leader. Passion. I give the team 110% of my attention and energy when I am there. I put all my attention and hard work into projects in the workplace because my job is what will be passionate about. I played broomball for three years and now I am the coach of the team. I want to give the athletes a positive experience and create the passion in them that I have for the sport. Oral Communication. Being a coach, I have to be able to convey what I am trying to say in a clear and concise way to the athletes. Training the girls correctly consists of explaining the game correctly and pointing out mistakes. I often use sandwich method, a compliment, a critique, and another compliment. This method is often used in the workplace in the HR field. Overall, Supply Chain and HR relate to coaching through the skill set learned.
