About Cassindra C. Nutter

With nearly two decades of education and administration experience, I’ve been privileged to make a difference in the lives of more than 400 elementary and middle school students. As an urban educator, I loved being part of the team at George Peabody Elementary—a team that not only won, but also kept its distinction as a nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School. During that time, and continuing through today, I’ve enjoyed serving as the connection between my primary school and the Future Leaders Program—an after-school partner organization that ties real-life experiences to academic pursuits.With the beginning of the 2013 academic year, I’m thrilled to join The Episcopal School of Dallas as the middle school computer science teacher as well as the technology coach, helping teachers integrate technology into their classrooms. I see great things happening this year!If you’re a student visiting my LinkedIn page, know this: everyone has a story to develop and share. As we work together on your understanding of technology in the world beyond Xbox and PS4, I want you to develop your story and learn about others’ stories. Always do your best, no matter the task. Ask for help when you need it. Be empathetic with each other. This year, our curriculum will center on how important digital citizenship is as well as, programming, animation, and basic networking knowledge. I look forward to you being a part of the ESD family. If you’re a parent, colleague, or program partner, know this: there is nothing more satisfying than seeing imaginations light up when students grasp and embrace new concepts. Technology lets us do that in new ways alongside all academic subjects. It poises our students for greatness in ways we can’t even understand today—no matter the discipline they ultimately choose. That is the perspective from which I will lead this year. I look forward to getting to know each of you.
