About Castle Kim

Castle's background comes from biology, acting & directing, education, digital media design, videography, and video production. Stemming from his experience, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) is at the heart of Castle's study and research interest. Castle's research interest is in positive STEM experience through the integration of arts into the experience - which is an extension of the idea of STEAM. Castle wants to see how mixing arts and art practices into STEM can create a positive experience for STEM and non-STEM interested students. Taking from John Dewey's emphasis on experience in education, Castle wants to research and explore the impact of how student's positive experience in STEM (with the help of arts) can influence their current and future impression and experience in STEM and Information. With his research, Castle hopes to explore more in-depth about information literacy, digital literacy, innovation, and interaction with emerging technology through his approach to STEAM. Castle is asking himself the questions: Do the students feel creative with arts-integrated into STEM and Information? Are the students having fun?
