Background

About Cat Counsell

I am an organizational development leader who partners with executives and business leaders to design talent systems that scale without eroding human judgement, creativity, or autonomy. My work spans skills, career systems, and job architecture design, with a focus on aligning how work is defined, developed, and governed to support both business performance and meaningful human contribution. With 15+ years across arts, entertainment, and technology-driven environments, I integrate organizational psychology with practical organizational development, talent strategy, and systems design. I operate as a trusted advisor in highly matrixed contexts, leading through influence and translating complex talent challenges into durable, measurable practices leaders rely on for decision-making and long-term workforce planning.Alongside this work, I advise on the responsible application of AI in people systems, with a focus on ethical design and human-centered use of artificial emotional intelligence (AEI). I design and apply AI-enabled approaches to career and job content systems that keep humans firmly in the loop, using AI to augment judgment and efficiency rather than replace human insight, accountability, or quality.
