About Cath Jones

I am an experienced Service & UX Design Consultant and have designed and produced about 150 projects over the past 25+ years including end to end government services, responsive websites, mobile apps, web apps, interactive and connected tv apps, e-learning programmes and web based games. I am flexible and hard working - you can drop me into a project at any point and I am quickly able to make a valuable contribution to design, structure, flow and usability at the tactical or strategic level. I am experienced at working with, and presenting my work, to senior stakeholders and at board level. In addition to being a highly experienced practitioner, I have several years’ experience in managing and mentoring multidisciplinary design teams. I enjoy nurturing talent and bringing out the best in individuals. I thoroughly enjoy ux and service design and always bring enthusiasm as well as contemporary ideas and knowledge to a project. I love to use a variety of sketching and prototyping techniques in order to communicate ideas to users, the team and stakeholders alike. I'm able to pretty quickly convey concepts, flows and transitions with diagrams, animation, maps and interactive prototypes. I love working within a multidisciplinary team and recognise the benefits that brings to products. I'm a firm believer in an agile, collaborative and user-centred approach to a project and think this ultimately leads to the best product and service experience that can be achieved within realistic timeframes. I understand the importance of getting a product or service to market quickly and take a flexible, modular approach to all that I design. I care deeply about what I design and the impact it has on users, yet know how to strike a pragmatic balance between user and organisational needs. I am good at seeing and articulating the big picture but still have a keen attention for the detail.
