About Cath Norman

With over 30 years of leadership in the global energy and resources sectors, my career has focused on shaping and leading high-impact exploration projects across Australia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. As the former Managing Director of ASX-listed FAR Limited for 11 years, I guided the company to its position as the 6th largest oil and gas company on the ASX, growing to a market capitalisation of A$700M. Under my leadership, FAR Limited made the world’s largest oil discovery of 2014, offshore Senegal, West Africa. My expertise spans the full spectrum of the oil, gas, and mineral exploration lifecycle, including project generation, discovery, development, and operational execution. I have deep experience in capital markets, equity and debt financing, ESG, public company governance, risk management, and investor relations. I currently serve as Executive Chair at BOA Resources Limited, an ASX-listed mineral exploration company dedicated to discovering critical battery minerals like nickel and lithium, essential for the global energy transition. I am also the founder of Lionne Pty Ltd, a multidisciplinary consulting firm focused on energy and resources project execution, with a particular emphasis on African energy opportunities. Throughout my career, I’ve been recognised with numerous industry awards, including the Global Women in Petroleum and Energy Award for Africa (2014), Upstream West African Woman in E&P Award (2018), and the Lifetime Achievement Award by the African Energy Chamber (2022). I am passionate about contributing to the energy and resources industries’ future, driving sustainable growth, and empowering teams to deliver meaningful results.
