About Cathalyn Washington

My name is Cathalyn Washington. I am twenty-one years old and am currently attending LoyolaUniversity Chicago as a senior. In high school I was a part oftwo programs with the Anti-Cruelty Society: Teens Who Care and After School Advocates.Both programs, one hands on and the other an advocacy program, provided me opportunities tolearn about animal behavior, and the opportunity to work hands on with animals. I have alsoassisted in the cleaning and enrichment construction of animals, along with socialization ofanimals and office assistance. I have also gained experience with tutoring children. Located inMinneapolis, Minnesota, I worked with the America Reads Program with tutoring and enrichingthe afterschool lives of children, ranging from kindergarten to eight grades. When I wasn’tworking with children, I volunteered at the Minnesota Children’s Museum, which has helped meto be able to engage with both older adults and children. While in Chicago, I acquired a job atAeslin Pup Hub, which has helped me to improve my skills on customer service and animalwelfare and behavior. I believe that my experience is suitable for the duties and responsibilitiesof the position. These experiences that I have will help me to following cleaning regimes,organization rules, and communication with workers and customers.
