About Cathbert Busiku

One day in High school while attending a computer studies lesson, our teacher asked “those who want to study for a bachelor's degree in computer science to stand up”, to my surprise it was only me standing up. From that day I decided to become one of the best in my field. Today not much has changed, am still holding that promise to be the best in the field. To make my dreams alive I did a Bachelor's degree in computer engineering. While pursuing my degree I became interested in machine learning and for this reason, I majored in artificial Intelligence. Now I am in love with data, which has led me to specialize in Data Science. I have developed skills in structured thinking, statistical analysis, machine learning, data visualization, advanced Excel, making creative dashboards and report writing. I also have skills in python, java, C++, SQL, HTML, CSS and in using tools such as Excel, Tableau, Power BI and databases. To advance my knowledge I took some hands courses which include the data analytics professional certificate at Google and the data science professional certificate at IBM. I have also some personal projects and my recent ones are developing a Zambia SMS spam detection app with 98% accuracy in detecting spam messages and a face mask detection system. Currently, I have been working at DMI St. Eugene University as a part-time programming lecturer. I love sharing knowledge with others and I have done my best to give the students the best skills and knowledge that will make them outstand others. In my free time, I do my projects and also freelancing, this helps me to keep updated with new skills. I want to help businesses, organizations and the governments at large to make everyday decisions data-driven decisions. I want to use my skills to solve most world problems by using data and telling the story from the findings in data. I believe we can make the world better using machine learning and coming up with models that improve the lives of people.
