About Catherine Dail

Thank you for this opportunity to express to you my commitment to the occupational therapy profession and of my core values and past experiences. I am proud to say that on December 18th, 2015 I graduated with my Doctorate of Occupational Therapy (OTD) from Creighton University. I have grown immeasurably while earning my OTD at Creighton University. In addition, I have gained a deep appreciation of the personal sacrifices and commitment needed to become an occupational therapist. It was always a desire of mine to become a member of this valued, prestigious and respected profession of occupational therapy. Perseverance is my greatest asset and my personal life, time and schedule will be adjusted accordingly to achieve success in the profession. On a personal note, my grandfather suffered a serious injury at the Battle of Cassino which led to permanent disability. He had a left hemiparesis secondary to a stroke and taught me about the grace and dignity of living with a disability. He also helped me realize that although life is different after an injury, one can continue to live a full and productive life. He was and still is the inspiration for the immense passion I have for occupational therapy and disabilities. My goal/desire is to make that type of significant and positive impact to an individual’s physical, mental, and emotional development; as well as self- acceptance and functional independence.
