About Catherine Dougherty

I am a recent graduate of an MSN program on the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) track at the University of Pennsylvania. Through both my PMHNP clinical rotation and my bedside experience as a Registered Nurse, I have garnered knowledge of various psychiatric and neurodevelopmental diagnoses, as well as pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions which may best serve patients and families. Additionally, I have learned how to collaborate effectively with others by keeping an open line of communication, seeking answers to questions and problems that arise, and contributing a positive and growth-oriented attitude to a team. I approach patients in a holistic, patient-centered, and trauma-informed manner, taking into consideration their complex needs, family dynamics, lived experiences, and access to appropriate resources, alongside signs and symptoms of mental health pathologies.
