Founder & Director of make:good An Architecture & design studio that engages with communities to create positive change in their neighbourhood. Our services include the facilitation of projects around creative engagement, co-design, public consultation, landscape design, playground design, service design and behaviour change projects. Selected Projects: Barking Riverside Engagement An 18 month programme of engagement around the development of a brownfield site in East London into a large residential site with supporting infrastructure. The engagement process took the form of a residency in an empty shop unit to understand how this seemingly huge development would effect local people. Southampton Station Quarter Engagement A 6 month programme of engagement working with local residents, businesses, employers and employees in the area surrounding the station. Engagement was initiated by a series of on street activities over the space of a month to gather insight from as wide an audience as possible before identifying key individuals to form an active Friends of Group. Ashmount SEN School An outdoor classroom for a special school, was designed by spending time in the school and really getting to know staff & students. I observed that the staff were amazingly creative in the way they ‘dressed up’ & transformed their classrooms from an ocean with a desert island to a Viking ship to a concert hall. This gave me the initial idea to create a set of coat hangers that could allow the outdoor area to become something different every time it was used. Kennington Park Estate Playground for Hyde Housing A new playscape designed through an extensive engagement process with children and young people on the estate who tested ideas at all scales before settling on a final design.
