Background

About Catherine Hedger

I am a graduate from the Dietetic Internship at Virginia Tech's Northern Virginia program interested in clinical dietetics. I became interested in dietetics as a way to improve my athletic performance. I am a runner, triathlete, and horseback rider and as such always love to be outdoors enjoying nature's beauty. I grew up on a farm, eating farm fresh meats and produce, which heavily influences my preference today for fresh food. My athletic performance motivates me to learn more about nutrition and how the body functions. I used this motivation to conduct research on hydration and beverage consumption's impact on collegiate athletes while pursuing my Master's degree at Virginia Tech. Throughout my time in graduate school and my internship program I have cultivated my organizational skills, time management skills, hard work ethic, and my ability to quickly pick up on procedures and adapt to new workplace environments.
