About Catherine Johnston

Catherine offers Art Therapy Sessions to individuals and groups. Her background as an Art Teacher lead her to focus on meeting the needs of adolescents and primary aged children, currently working in schools, however all ages are invited to partake, in order to address particular concerns or needs. Catherine works with issues related to self-esteem development, PTSD, anxiety disorders/discomfort, identity confusion, disorientation amidst life changes and creative blocks. Catherine offers person-centred creative processes, adopting a multi-modal approach, according to media preferences, levels of confidence and openness to explore visual communication. If you have a goal to include improving literacy and numeracy skills, these can be interwoven into directives and supported appropriately. Art Therapy workshops are created to target client needs, whether it be in a corporate setting to address staff connection or creativity motivation or for social groups wanting to address creativity blocks or topics such as grief and loss. Workshops can be geared to you and your goals. Whilst Catherine works in schools primarily with students, she is also available to teachers for hourly sessions, as a means of counteracting stress. Art Therapy sessions are held witihn a safe environment, with an array of resources and media available. CathArtik Art Therapy is available in Hazelbrook in a studio or alternatively will come to you.
