About Catherine Matzig

An experienced fundraiser with 20+ years’ experience in the arts, health care and mental health care philanthropy sectors, I am currently the Senior Director, Philanthropy at Canadian Mental Health Association, York Region and South Simcoe. Skilled in Capital Campaigns, Leadership Giving, Planned Giving, Sponsorship, Direct Response, Events and Donor Stewardship, I hold a Certified Fundraising Executive designation (2009), am Blackbaud RENXT Fundamentals Certified (2022) and have a Master’s Degree, Fine Arts (Theatre) York University. I have also been on both sides of the board table – as a staff member at not-for-profit organizations and for 8 years, as a Board Member with the New Tecumseth Public Library. When not connecting donors with causes they care about, I am a world traveler who has visited 31 countries to date, a long distance runner who is never in danger of winning a race, and an Open Water – Advanced certified SCUBA diver.
