About Catherine Piner

I recently received a MPhil in Economic and Social History and a second Mphil in Critical Approaches to Children's Literature from the University of Cambridge. In 2016, I received my bachelor's degree from Wellesley College (majors: English and Economics). I graduated magna cum laude and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa. Presently, I'm working on academic papers related to WWII economic history and, more generally, researching financial literacy. In my free time, I'm working on a series of children's books combining my economic research with methodologies that I learned in my children's literature degree. I'm an avid reader, love the theatre, and have a passion for astronomy! I have over seventeen years of dance training and performance experience (including training in classical ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop) and over ten years of acting and improv experience.
