About Catherine Quick

I am a hardworking, loyal hospitality professional who has expanded into the leadership and development of staff and the teaching of vocational education. I have experience in every aspect of front of house hospitality, from casual bars and venues through to fine dining, both in Queensland and the UK. I am proficient behind the bar, on the floor, behind a coffee machine and confident managing a large work force or venue. I am able to create and develop policies and procedures for new ventures, or to assist in continuous improvement of already established venues and create individual staff or venue training plans to assist in the growth of hospitality businesses. I have spent over 15 working in hospitality and I currently regularly create content for the VET Hospitality courses I co-ordinate and have the ability to create and validate assessments, course content and lesson and training plans. My specializations are front of house restaurant management, complaint handling, wine service and customer service. I have completed level 2 and 3 in Wines from the Wine Spirits Educational Trust, along with the WSET Educator course entitling me to deliver level 1 and 2 of their programs. I also possess a current RSA Certificate, a Certificate in Hospitality and a Certificate IV TAE 40116. I am currently employed in the VET sector and have a wide range of experience dealing with clients from very different social and learning backgrounds with the ability to tailor learning to individual needs. With the challenges that have been presented to both the education sector and hospitality environments in 2020 I have also expanded my digital skills and ability to be able to plan for and present learning and training sessions in an online environment.
