About Catherine Robbins

Dr. Catherine Robbins, DNP, APRN, AGACNP-BC, CCRN, CNRN is a doctoral-prepared adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner specializing in neurosurgery and neuroscience with the Memorial Neurosurgery Department in the Hollywood and Pembroke Pines locations since 2014. She has a passion for working with a high level of patient acuity, and for educating patients and families during their acute and recovery states. She is motivated to provide the best experience for her patients. Dr. Robbins is a graduate of the University of Central Florida’s baccalaureate nursing program (2009). Her nursing practice included neuroscience, trauma, and critical care specialties. She subsequently received her Master’s of Science in Nursing in 2014 from Barry University and her Doctorate of Nursing Practice in 2018; her doctoral focus was on ‘Shared Decision Making for the Severely Brain Injured Patient’. Her professional involvement includes committee member of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Professional Development Committee within the Memorial Healthcare System. Additionally, she was the past chair of the Advocacy Committee of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN)(2016-2018) and remains an active member of AANN and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN); she is dual certified in critical care and neuroscience nursing with both AANN and AACN. Dr. Robbins has participated in an adjunct professor role for multiple nursing programs, to include Maryville University and Nova Southeastern University, teaching masters level courses to students around the country. Lastly, she has also worked in freelance writing over the past three years for the nursing field and is pending textbook publication for Sole’s Introduction to Critical Care Nursing, Neuroscience chapter, in 2024.
